DATABASE ARCHITECT
We are looking for a highly skilled MySQL Database Architect. The successful candidate will be
responsible for maintaining, designing and improving our database structure and will be working
in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, fun and entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities Include
• Work directly with the development team to ensure optimal query and table design.
• Plan and implement improvements to our existing database schema.
• Provide support to the technology department regarding database troubleshooting.
• Analyzing and tuning our Database system.
• Ensure 24/7 availability of our database system.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
• Expert in high performance SQL, especially as it pertains to MySQL's language subset.
• Strong understanding of MySQL hardware level interactions
• Expert in database design especially as it pertains to performance on a high traffic
database.
• Proficiency in replication/clustering technologies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education and Experience Required
• BS Degree in computer science or similar field
• 5-7+ years IT experience
• Current experience as a DBA (2+ years)
• 2+ years experience programming, maintaining and tuning MySQL in a high transaction
clustered or replicated environment.
• MySQL certification a plus
