Quality Test Automation Engineer
- Helping to implement an automation solution for reducing test execution cycles while increasing overall test coverage
- Creating dynamic and ever-evolving automation scripts that are truly repeatable and executable by everyone on the QA Team
- Educating the Engineering Department about automation and the benefits and realities of automation
- Maintaining and keeping the automated regression test bed current and functional
- Implementing customizable automated solutions as individual projects dictate
- Participating in the research, evaluation and implementation of automated testing tools and utilities
- Develop and maintain test harnesses, test automation interfaces, and automation testing environments
Qualifications:
- The Test Automation Engineer must possess the following competencies:
- Programming skills or knowledge to build upon in cross-platform technologies and languages including TSL, VB, C#, XML, XPATH, XSLT and SQL but primarily in C#
- Experience with test tools and utilities specifically HP/Mercury Products
- Proven experience as a test automation engineer on Software Development projects
- Good knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle and Software Development methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work within teams but also alone • Ability to cope with flexible work schedules
- Proactive solution building skills and innovative problem solving skills
- Knowledge of networking and network administration a plus
- 4+ years of overall Quality Assurance experience with at least 2 years in automation (and 1 year in the use of QTP (Quick Test Professional from Mercury)
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field required or equivalent experience
- A Quality Assurance or Automation certification is a plus
