Lead Controls Engineer/ Project Manager
Responsibilities:
A local Engineering consulting company is searching for a highly qualified Lead-level Controls Engineer/ Project Manager. This position will be responsible for providing hands-on technical leadership of engineering, as well as project management of multi-disciplined engineering projects. As a project manager, responsibilities will include: client meetings, proposal development, estimating, scheduling, budget control, risk control, contract negotiations, etc. This position will also be responsible for coordinating the programming and design of PLC, OMI, VFD and Servo Motion projects from hardware design, software integration, construction, and start-up. This individual must be able to issue design packages for bids and construction, as well as coordinate and lead engineering, design, & CAD resources. This individual will also act as a senior technical resource for the team and will actively coach and mentor junior engineers & designers. Candidates must be able to travel up to 35%, or as needed, for data gathering, design reviews, install, start-ups and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
BSEE degree, 10+ years of Controls Engineering experience with at least 5 years in a lead position, 3+ years of Project Management experience. This candidate must have “hands-on” experience working with PLC’s/ HMI’s (Allen Bradley, Wonderware, and Rockwell families), as well as experience in PLC, OMI, VFD, DC Drives and Servo Motion programming. Experience in Web Handling, extrusion, resin handling, chemical processing, converting, and packaging equipment is ideal. This individual must also have experience in contract negotiation and contract management, and must have strong client interface & communication skills. PE in MN and PMP certification is desired. Candidates with P.E. registration in MN, or who possess extensive food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry experience are encouraged to inquire. Salary DOE.
