Performance Engineer
Location - St Paul
Salary - 80 to 100k
Position Summary
The Performance Engineer is a core member of our mission-critical technology team. This team is key to the success of our business and is responsible for assuring the ongoing quality of our Java- and JRuby-based web application deployed on RedHat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, and Windows 2003 Servers running IIS 6.0, Apache 2.0 & 2.2, Tomcat 5.5, and Oracle 10g
The Performance Engineer will design and implement performance tests (volume, load, stress) to test products for stability, usability, scalability, and reliability. This person will also be responsible for:
- Analyzing and reporting performance data to guide development and
deployment decisions - Developing large volumes of data for testing
- Designing and executing tests that will measure performance metrics
under volume, load, and stress - Using profiling and performance analysis tools and assisting
developers in refactoring code
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- 8 years software development experience (testing, programming, or
other) - Experience performance-testing and profiling web applications
- Smart, motivated, creative
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with developers
Preferred Skills
It is strongly desired that candidates also meet several of the following criteria:
- Experience with Ruby and Rails and Java
