Job Description:
The Principal Business Analyst leads and participates in current state assessments, evaluates improvement opportunities and formulates future state approaches. Devises or modifies systems processes and/or procedures to solve highly complex business problems. Defines business process objectives and systems requirements. Prepares detailed documentation from which program specifications will be written. Responsible for leading the analysis phase for all types of application development projects. Provides direction on design solutions and functionality decisions. Aids in the development of user interfaces. Has a thorough understanding of the business or function for which the application is designed. Outlines thorough testing requirements. In addition, duties include instructing, directing and checking the work of other business analysts. May be expected to perform as a project manager for large and complex activities.
•Provide accurate and effective training and analytic expertise to other less experienced personnel. Instructs and coaches end users in order to meet project goals. Allocates and balances work assignments; reviews, evaluates, and reports project programs. Evaluates and reports the performance of assigned team members.
•Leads or serves on IT ad hoc committees as assigned. This includes research, problem solving, information organization and documentation.
•Demonstrates a commitment to Total Quality and the process of continuous improvement. Identifies and responds actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers and is open and responsive to change.
•Responsible for heading and/or performing the following activities: devises or modifies procedures and processes to solve complex problems to achieve desired results.
•Provides detailed requirements documentation from which program specifications will be written.
•Converts business problems to logical flow diagrams for identifying improvement opportunities. Needs to understand and manage end to end processes within projects.
Requirements:
-BA/BS degree with an analytical discipline or 10+ years of directly related experience.
-Expert knowledge of systems analysis and/or design (ERP experience required).
-Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and instructional manuals. Ability to write reports and other varied business correspondence and present information effectively both written and oral.
-Strong analytical ability to devise systems and/or process solutions to solve complex business problems. Marketing background a plus.
-Knowledge of project management techniques and ability to lead projects.
-Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology.
