Senior Java Developer
Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to assist in design and development of J2EE financial applications. Primary responsibility will be support and development of enhancements to a J2EE/Swing loan collections system. Duties will include modeling, architecture, design, and development of application modules including reusable components, services, and frameworks. Will be required to translate business requirements into detailed technical design specifications. Will also work with and guide less experienced Java developers.
Responsibilities:
- J2EE Java development - Design and development of reusable components and services
- Project Lead for small projects • Review and manage scope, create or review charters, gather requirements, develop, unit and acceptance testing, and provide status reports IT mgmt
- Assist with achieving IT department goals - ITIL, CMM level 2, etc
- Review projects and issues with peers
- Prepares pre-release and release process documents including Change Control, contingency and fallback Plans.
Other responsibilities:
- Ensure SDLC procedures are followed
- Mentor less experienced JAVA developers
- Ability to work directly with end users to help define requirements
- Create and/or review change tickets, problem tickets as needed
- Communicate with Manager, Architect and Operations regarding best solutions
- Applications level 2 support as needed
- Assist with Code Reviews
- Participate in on-call rotation
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- BS/BA degree, technical certification, or equivalent work experience.
- Must have 7 or more years experience in similar position or have equivalent kind of skills experience.
- Java J2EE - 4 years
- EJBs, JDBC, Design Patterns - 2 years
- Eclipse – 2 years
- CVS – 1 year XML – 1 year
- UML – 1 year
- Weblogic – 1 year
- JBoss – 1 year
- Swing – 1 Year
- Project Management – 1 year
- SQL - 4 years
- Business Analyst skills - requirements gathering, use cases/stories, testing - 2 years
- Troubleshooting skills
- Communication skills Full SDLC experience
- Oracle, Informix experience
Nice to have: Agile development experience, XDoclet, Anthill, Jboss Seam, EJB3, Crystal Reporting, Fit Testing, JUnit Testing, Struts.
