Senior RF test Engineer

Position Summary:

This position is accountable for the design and installation of manufacturing test systems to ensure the quality of the products manufactured.  As part of the Operations team, the RF Test Engineer will support current production tests, troubleshoot yield problems, assist in new product introductions, and make improvements to test automation and data collection

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain production test processes and equipment for products produced
  • Support the production testing of electronic assemblies
  • Support the transition of new products from development to manufacturing
  • Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods
  • Create and maintain necessary documentation, work instructions, for product specifications and testing
  • Work with equipment and service vendors to ensure the application of effective test practices at vendor locations
  • Installs and configures Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems
  • Installs, modifies and maintains test beds, fixtures and equipment
  • Development of automated test, data acquisition, and control systems using LabView
  • Participate in design teams to ensure the manufacturability and quality of products designed with a focus on design for Test/Manufacturing (DFx) issues
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, related discipline or years related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience developing automated test, measurement, data acquisition, and control systems
  • RF product development/test experience
  • Labview or other test automation methodology experience
  • Experience in driving quality of product in Six Sigma, Lean or other quality improvement programs
  • Basic understanding of PCB/PCBA electronic production, assembly and test processes
  • Basic understanding of IP-based networking architectures, protocols or applications
  • Experience and knowledge of software programming for developing DUT test procedures. Skills using C/C++, LabView, database applications and Excel
  • Skills using bench equipment: oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, power supplies, etc.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Interface with others:

This position works closely with the following personnel in the execution of assigned duties: Operations peers and manager to implement and administer establish test procedures, product design engineers to ensure manufacturability of the products designed. Outside vendors coordinate product testing improvements to the manufacturing process.
