Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Atrial fibrillation (AF or A Fib) is the most common abnormal heart rhythm. It is a very fast, uncontrolled heart rhythm that occurs when the upper chambers of the heart try to beat so fast that they can only quiver. Our Client is located in Minnetonka, Minnesota is a leading manufacturer of medical devices used by physicians in the electrophysiology and cardiac cath labs. We provide the most innovative solutions to our customers to enhance the practice of medicine, reduce procedure time, and increase patient safety and comfort. We currently have opportunities for the following:

Under the direction of the Business Unit Manager, provides technical support to the assembly of AF products, technical support to new product teams for design for manufacturability, and directs the work of a Manufacturing Technician within the Division’s manufacturing scope. Supports continuing production and transfer of new products involving the assembly and packaging processes. Develops and leads process validation activities as required. Generates, justifies, and changes manufacturing documentation. Lead justification and purchase of new capital equipment and/or upgrades of existing capital equipment. Perform or manage the installation, operational, or process qualifications. Provide direction and supervision to manufacturing engineering technician. Participates in cross-functional teams comprised of representatives from R&D, Production, Regulatory Affairs, and other departments focused on design for manufacturing of new products.

Requirements/Education: Must have a BS in Engineering, MS preferred, with minimum of five years experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have knowledge of manufacturing processing involving manual assembly, RF and solvent bonding, packaging, sonic welding, and packaging. Experience with statistical techniques (i.e. DOE, SPC), Lean manufacturing principles, creation of value stream maps, design for manufacturing, and design for six sigma is required. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel); and the ability to work independently as well as a member to a team. Experience in the medical device industry or other regulated industry is preferred but not required.
